Asahi’s Rising Stars 2010 Competition
Are you aged under 30 and a top bartending talent? Then enter Asahi’s Rising Stars 2010 Competition
Asahi is not just the UK’s best-selling Japanese beer, it’s also the Japanese word for ‘rising sun’. And new beginnings have been a key feature of Asahi Breweries ever since it launched in 1892.
Asahi brewed the first ever Super Dry Japanese Beer, launched the first aluminium beer can, and now want to find the bartending talent of tomorrow…
The Asahi Rising Stars competition is open to any full-time bartender in the UK aged under 30.
Entrants aren’t tied to any particular spirit brand, and there are no gimmicky rules – you simply need to send us an original cocktail recipe that tastes fantastic. We want to find the best new cocktail in the UK!
There will be four heats throughout 2010:
1. Midlands (February 2010)
2. Northern England (April 2010)
3. Ireland, Scotland + IRE (June 2010)
4. London (July 2010)
The four heat finalists will go forward to a grand final at London’s Park Plaza Riverbank, where contenders will face a dastardly drinks quiz, before making their cocktail in front of a top trade panel – the more imaginative and entertaining the better.
The bartender who scores the highest for their cocktail, delivery and quiz answers will win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan in 2010. And every one of the four finalists will have their travel to London and accommodation after the final paid for courtesy of Asahi.
What you need to do
Send us an original cocktail recipe of your own making, plus a picture of you making it, along with your date of birth (no cheating now!) and a sentence on what you think sets you apart from the rest.

The rules
You must be a fulltime bartender in the UK, and aged under 30 on 1st October 2010. Apart from that, there are no rules.
We look forward to receiving your entry.
Best wishes,
